BP's Wilmington, California Calciner is located near the Port of Long Beach, and produces approximately 400,000 (short) tons per year of calcined product in its 13 ft dia x 270 ft long rotary kiln, one of the largest of its kind. The facility was constructed in 1982 by Martin-Marietta, and was purchased by BP Products Company in 1985.

Wilmington's green coke feed is produced at BP's nearby Carson Refinery, providing tight control of green coke feed and resultant calcined product consistency and quality.
Finished product is trucked to the Port of Long Beach for export, or railed to domestic customers.
